Man suspected of killing girlfriend in guesthouse after moving in together

A woman was found dead in a guest house room in Sangkat Stung Meanchey 1, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh, while her boyfriend escaped, causing a stir on the morning of July 18, 2026. According to preliminary information, on the afternoon of July 17, a couple rented a room at the "Krua" guest house in Village Threa 1.

The next morning, the guesthouse staff found the victim lying face down on the bed, while the man who had come with her had disappeared. After receiving the news, the authorities went to inspect the scene and opened an investigation to find the suspect for questioning and taking legal action.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death, while the body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause.
