Cambodia receives patrol ships from Japan, while Thailand receives rescue equipment under OSA program
While Thai social media is hotly discussing the news that Japan will provide patrol ships to Cambodia under the Official Security Assistance (OSA) program, official information has revealed that Thailand is also a country receiving assistance from the same program.
Japan has decided to provide a patrol boat to Cambodia under the Official Security Assistance (OSA) program to strengthen security cooperation. Meanwhile, Thailand is also receiving assistance from the same program, but in the form of humanitarian aid and disaster response (HADR/SAR) equipment.
According to official Japanese information, the aid for Thailand is worth approximately 500 million yen, or about 100 million baht, and has been delivered to relevant units of the Thai Army and the Royal Thai Navy to support search and rescue operations. The two grants are under the same OSA program but take different forms, with Cambodia receiving patrol vessels while Thailand receiving rescue equipment.
