Josh Kerr breaks men's mile world record

In the Diamond League in London, England's Josh Kerr broke Hicham El Guerrouj's record set in 1999 in Rome. Kerr ran in 3 minutes 42.66 seconds. The race was held at the London Stadium, home of West Ham United.
Kerr received a huge crowd of nearly 60,000 fans. Julien Alfred continued his winning streak. Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis withdrew from the pole vault due to injury.
Keely Hodgkinson won the 800-meter race. Gabby Thomas won second. Sam Kendricks won the pole vault.
Emmanuel Wanyonyi finished fourth in the 800 meters. Ja'Kobe Tharp set a new record in the 110 meters. Cierra Jackson won the shot put.
Ajayi Kayinsola won the 100m race.
